My stand came beautifully carved, looks great on the desk with or without headphones on it. I’m judging it at 5 stars for what it is, a wood sculpture that also functions as the best looking headphone stand out there.
There’s a little bit of form over function, because it is light, doesn’t have a big heavy base or rubberized feet so it’s not the most stable on the desk, but that’s not a fault it’s just the nature of what you get if you want what this stand is – a wood sculpture that’s as much art as headphone stand. Adding metal, rubber or silicone to this thing would have taken away from what it is. It’s still steady, no wobble, well balanced and won’t tip over with headphones on it, but it is light, will move when you take your headphones on and off, and will slide around the desk if you touch it. There are 20-30 dollar stands on Amazon you can buy if you want something with a big heavy base and rubberized feet. That’s not what you buy this stand for.
I’m thinking about buying a second for my other pair of headphones.

The headphone stand produced by Johann is an elegant piece of art supplemented with utility. I love the presence of the stand without headphone attached but its design purpose is the hold headphones with easy access and it accomplishes that with aplomb.

Form Follows Poetic Function
If I had not wondered how to store my over-ear headphones in a useful, practical way at home, I might not have been so quick to jump when I saw the Yohann stand. But then again, I already own the Yohann iPad stand — it’s how I did Zoom calls during the pandemic — and the iPhone stand — which I use while eating meals when I’m by myself. In fact, I gave my son the Yohann MacBook stand for Christmas. So when I saw the gorgeous, Ankh-curved stand for headphones, I knew it would be the work of art it is. Brilliantly designed, perfectly executed, it’s part Noguchi, part Dieter Rams, and all Yohann. It’s in the center of my library. I love it.

I use this for my desktop setup, holding an Abyss Diana TC. The design is perfect for that headphone. I like that the stand doesn’t stretch the headphone too far open when supporting them, and the appearance and finish of the walnut model I bought is excellent and looks great with these headphones.

I bought a pair for my Stax SR-X9000 and Focal Utopia. The custom housing for my Amp and DAC is beautifully finished Oak so I needed headphone stands that matched the refinement and quality. Yohann headphone stands are the _only_ option I found that fit the bill. The photos are representative of the quality of the physical product.
